This song was inspired by the family history of my good friend and music collaborator Don LeBlanc of New Brunswick, Canada. Don's ancestors were Acadian, and in the 1700's the British began forcibly relocating the Acadians to Louisiana and other locations. Don's ancestors were rounded up and put on board a ship, but on the journey the passengers mutinied, took command of the ship and returned to Acadie. If Don's ancestors had not been so brave, he could have been Cajun.
