When I moved to Seattle I discovered a whole new world of sound. Musicians and bands experimenting with new sounds. Hanging out with one another. It was so unlike the music scene in New York City, which felt more jungle-like. It was exciting and inspirational. I wrote a lot of songs in Seattle. With bands like Sound Garden, Alice in Chains, Heart, Nirvana, Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam and many others around, it was a music renaissance in Seattle. It was a garden of sound. For Chris, Layne and Kurt, tall flowers in that garden.
