Every now and then I sink into depression. Sometimes it comes after the death of a close friend (Ted), or an artist I respect (Tom Petty), or from reading the day's news. When the darkness comes, I tend to retreat into my head, and go to some very dark places Sometimes some smoke helps, but the best cure is heading to the mountains with my wife. The funny thing is, some of my best poems, lyrics and compositions have come to me when depressed. I hate going there, but if I get a poem or song from it, I guess it was not all bad.
For my wife, who brings light into my life when I hit the darkness hard.
